Book Your SessionMost couples arrive a little nervous. One of you loves the camera and one of you very much does not, and you have both agreed to do this anyway. That is usually the best possible starting point.
I do not ask you to pose at each other. I put you in a beautiful place, give you something to do, and then get out of the way while you two do what you already do. The photos that come back look like your relationship, which is the whole point.
I direct the whole way through, so neither of you is left standing there wondering what to do with your hands. Most people forget the camera is there within about ten minutes.
Every session is designed around the partner who did not want to do this. They are usually the one who ends up having fun.
All shapes, sizes, ages, and years together. Newly dating, newly engaged, or thirty years in.
Creeks, overlooks, garden boardwalks, and old oaks. Asheville gives us more good locations than we could ever use.
The Setting
A creek walk at the end of the day, a mountain overlook as the light goes gold, a boardwalk through the gardens with old trees closing overhead. These are the places I keep coming back to, because they give couples something to do besides look at a lens. You wade in, you walk, you get a little distracted by each other, and the photographs take care of themselves.
The Experience
A short questionnaire or a quick call so I know your story, how you met, and how much direction you want from me.
I will suggest two or three Asheville locations to choose from, based on the light at your session time and how you like to spend an evening together.
Think of it as a good date with someone tagging along. I direct from start to finish and keep the pace easy.
Your curated online gallery arrives within two weeks, retouched with a light hand so you both look like yourselves.

Both sessions below are for two people, at one of my favorite Asheville locations, in the best light of the day.
45 minutes, $325
One location, in the best light of the day. Forty five minutes is enough time to settle in, warm up, and get the images you will love. This is the session most couples book.
75 minutes, $450
A longer session at one location, with time for a change of clothes and room to move between settings. Built for engagements and anniversaries, and for anyone who would rather not watch the clock. Good at walkable places like the Biltmore or the Arboretum, where we can go from the trees to an overlook as the light drops.

This is the most common thing I hear, and those partners are consistently the ones who tell me afterward that it was fine. I give clear direction the whole way, I never leave anyone standing there guessing, and we start with the easy stuff before anything else. Nobody has to be good at this.
Wear what you feel like yourselves in. When you book, I will send a style guide with colors and textures that photograph beautifully here, and I am happy to look at options with you before the day.
Creeks and wooded trails, the Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks, garden boardwalks, and a few quieter spots I save for couples. I will recommend locations based on your session time and the light.
Yes, and I love doing it. Tell me the plan and we will work out where I hide, how you get them there, and how we transition into a real session afterward once the shock wears off.

If there are more than two of you, my family sessions are the better fit, and we can still get plenty of just-the-two-of-you frames while we are out there.
Usually sooner than you expect, but I promise two weeks so I can always keep my word. If you are on a deadline for save-the-dates, mention it when you book and I will build in a rush delivery.
