Twenty years behind a camera has taught me that the photo people keep is almost never the one they posed for. It is the half-second after, when somebody laughs or leans in and forgets I am there.
So that is what I shoot for. I handle the light, the location, and the direction. You get to be a person having a good evening in a beautiful place, and I will catch the moments you are too busy living to notice.

Behind the camera
Asheville-rooted, twenty years in.
I moved here in 2022 after a career shooting in New York and abroad, and I have not run out of light yet. The Southern Appalachians are a temperate rainforest, one of the most biodiverse places in North America, and it shows up in every frame.
